George Harrison - My Sweet Lord

The second track from his 1970 album, All Things Must Pass, this song was written in praise of the Hindu god Krishna (George was a devotee). Eric Clapton provided backing vocals, and played guitar, and Klaus Voormann, who drew the Revolver cover, played bass for this track.

Following the song’s release, it has been the center of a plagiarism suit (copyright infringement suit) due to its similarity with the Chiffons’ song “He’s So Fine.” The case’s name is known as Bright Tunes Music v. Harrisongs Music, and it lasted for 10 years. A U.S. district court reached a decision that George had “subconsciously” copied the song. George’s former manager, Allen Klein, purchased the copyright to “He’s So Fine” from Bright Tunes Music for $587,000.
